Sebastiaan van den Berg, Asia-based managing director with HarbourVest Partners, has joined Sun Hung Kai & Co., Ltd. as chief investment officer of its principal investments unit, the executive announced via email today.
He left HarbourVest Partners in April.
Founded in 1969, Sun Hung Kai is a Hong Kong-listed investment and finance firm with a focus on Greater China. The firm has about HK$18 billion in shareholders' equity.
It has four major business divisions, including consumer finance, mortgage loans, structured finance and principal investments.
The principal investments unit makes strategic investments in complementary financial services and related sectors, including real estate and private equity.
